I know what you're thinking, paying for design can be a daunting prospect. I try to think about it from my clients shoes and the best comparison I can make is how I feel when I bring my car into a garage to be fixed. I have no clue what is involved in fixing it and I'm petrified that I will be overcharged because of my lack of knowledge in the subject.
With that in mind I try to be as straightforward as possible with clients. I base my price off a rate of €50/hour but instead of scaring people into thinking that this will build into a monstrous end fee I use this to estimate a fixed price so clients know exactly what they will be spending to complete a project.
In order to further simplify this I have developed a price list of the most common projects I am asked to work on so clients can easily select what they might need.
Branding
For a brand creation which would include logo development, social branding and other marketing assets this would cost €300.
Web
For a typical single page scrolling website I would charge €300. For a multi page website up to 4 pages this would be approximately €750. E-commerce websites would start at €500. Included in this price is everything needed to set up a website for use including SEO development, tag handling and screen responsiveness. These prices do not include website hosting and domain purchase these must be bought by the client. I design using WIX which allows me to really quickly turn around websites with minimal coding.
Documentation
This heavily depends on the style and size of the documentation being developed. For a stylised 20 - 30 page document with imagery and branding this would cost approximately €500.
Retainer Agreements
I offer a retainer agreement on completion of all projects. This would typically look something like the following: €100 per month, guaranteeing the client up to 4 hours of work at a reduced cost of €25/hour to make any alterations needed on their project and can be stopped at anytime. This price can be increased to include more hours on a monthly basis (for instance €200 for 8 hours work) but all work completed outside the agreed retainer will be charged at €50/hour.
